“kutnu & ikat” as sustainable craft medium
I focuse on the revival of anatolian regional forms and textile traditions which I like to combine in my wearables and fiber sculpture. My on-going project involves “kutnu” and “ikat” fabric weavings from Gaziantep, South Anatolia. I research and enjoy ways to transform the traditional handcrafted products into a different form that meets the needs of modern life and gain new functionality.
My aim is to increase the awareness of the shifting and influential cultural position of the crafts.
